MAU is hiring a Structure Engineer I at our client in Greer, SC. As a Structure Engineer I, you will coordinate the installation of structure-related systems for existing and new models in conjunction with process requirements. You will also monitor and evaluate the structure systems operational, technical, and mechanical status related to the overall system performance, design specifications, and total throughput of the assembly facility. This is a contract, long-term assignment. Our client, a premier automotive company, is located in the upstate area of SC. Benefits PackageMajor medical coverage, including dental and vision401k with employer matchingTerm lifeShort-term disabilityAccidental lossUniform allowancePTO and paid holidaysShift Information1st shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering; OR4+ years of related engineering experience2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably the automotive industry1+ year(s) of project management experienceGeneral RequirementsStrong strategic thinking and problem resolutionProven knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing processIntermediate management, team building, and communication skillsSolid computer skills, including Microsoft Office applicationsPreferred RequirementsMicroStation experienceEssential FunctionsCoordinate and plan all structure refurbishments and modifications to the facility, including truss reinforcements, utility relocation, concrete replacement, resurfacing, and painting of floors, and investment planning and trackingDevelop and maintain a working relationship with contractors and facilities engineering central planningOversee visiting contractors on site and advise on civil engineering issuesEnsure that assembly remains in line with all code issues (i.e., Fire Marshall, Insurance Company, etc.)Evaluate and report on the impact of model allocation on the assembly structureEstablish and maintain standards and specificationsCoordinate technical and feasibility studies and site investigations with the Facilities GroupCoordinate the assessment of potential risks of specific projects, undertaking risk management in specialist rolesSupervise tendering procedures and proposal formulationCoordinate effective communication and liaison with colleagues, architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers, and clientsManage budgets and other project resources for all projects assignedReview and approve project drawingsCoordinate the compilation and approval of all construction reportsCoordinate the adoption of all relevant requirements around issues such as building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices, and safety on all work assignmentsLead the correcting of any project deficiencies that affect production, quality, and safety requirements before final evaluation and project reviewsPlan secondary mediaSupport planning activities for conveyor refurbishments, modifications/installations, including concept, design approval, specifications, RFQ, schedule, installation, commissioning, startup, training, buy-off, and investment planning/trackingAuthorize/approve all system modifications and assist in their development where necessaryContinually evaluate system performance to improve efficiency and reliabilityProvide cost estimates for system modification or extraordinary maintenance items as requested by maintenance planningDevelop and maintain expertise in the following as they relate to conveyors: modifications, engineering, standard and specification, and system functional design capabilitiesRemain familiar with the engineering, maintenance, operations, and administrative procedures and policies that govern plant operations, including technical specification and safetyPerform other tasks as required#PS
