Job Description AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Structural Engineering I to be based in Rocky Hill, CT.
Job Responsibilities: Prepare and check design calculations for bridges and other transportation related structures. Prepare and check design calculations for buildings, which may include but not limited to commercial, government, and transit rail stations. Load rating of existing bridges. Preparation of Construction drawings which include – plans, structural sections, and details. Preparation of quantity calculations. Preparation of construction cost estimates. Preparation of reports and technical specifications. Shop drawing review and provide design services during construction. Perform visual survey and structural observations of existing building structures for rehabilitations/repair projects. Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed. Propose approach and specialized technical input to solve new problems encountered in the field. Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. May telecommute. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a civil engineering-related occupation.
Position requires:
 Autodesk, Revit, or MicroStation; CSi Bridge or other bridge analysis software; Steel and concrete design; Structural analysis, steel, and concrete design calculations; Mathcad or other data analyzing software; Building codes; AASHTO highway and bridge design codes; and AASHTO MBE, AISC, ASTM, or ACI manuals.
