We are currently searching for a Strategic Buyer for hybrid work to support our facilities in Pine Bluff AR Panama City FL and 5 units in Canada. Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain Management this person will be responsible for all supplier development strategies at CMI SCM. These responsibilities include requesting quotes negotiating contract terms writing and processing purchase orders identifying/resolving any commercial discrepancies and managing supplier relationships in accordance with CMI purchasing strategies. In addition the role involves developing and improving any processes or tools that are used to ensure timely and accurate execution of purchasing activities. Cross functional communication and teamwork will be vital to ensure all processes and procedures are aligned with the overall plant's key performance indicators.

Required Education and Preferred Experience Bachelor's degree in Business Supply Chain Management or a related technical field is required Must have 2 to 5 years of experience working in Supply Chain management Operations or Manufacturing Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel experience using database access tools (SQL queries etc) is strongly preferred Experience and working knowledge in Lean 5S Kaizen Events and Gemba boards preferred Manufacturing or six sigma methodologies and problemsolving skills are a plus Excellent written and communication skills the ability to write procedures good training skills Must embrace and foster an environment that supports our core values of Integrity Respect Excellence Teamwork and Accountability Ability to work in a team environment and as an individual contributor. What you'll be doing: The Strategic Buyer will be engaged in the following activities to improve CMI competitiveness through supplier performance: safety sustainability quality delivery and total cost of ownership reduction improving reliability and reducing lead times throughout value chain:
Develop and manage supplier performance and scorecard system Drive improvements in top spend categories to support supply chain productivity goals Implement strategic sourcing supply agreements Ensure compliance to DOA and purchasing standard work Coordinate with operations and value stream managers to ensure continuous material flow to operations with changing demand profiles and schedule changes while ensuring control of stocking levels Negotiate with suppliers (price terms conditions & lead time) Manages all aspects of assigned commodities as well as assists on other commodities as needed Manages total acquisition cost for respective suppliers through negotiation process change and/or resourcing. Sources for assigned commodities to effectively support the business unit requirements and or SOW Measures Supplier Performance based on quality assurance and production input to identify and resolve out of bounds conditions. Develop purchasing strategies to mitigate risk within current supply chain Evaluate supplier capabilities and marketplace for potential strategic opportunities Implement procurement best practices such as economic order quantities stocking agreements milkrun returnable packaging and/or Kanban material deliveries Facilitate meetings between manufacturing plant and supplier representatives to ensure open communication for all issues including quality delivery and cost Participate and Lead Kaizen events to support continuous improvement and Atkore Business System initiatives Proactively work with suppliers to minimize supply disruption Benefits: Competitive salary (Subject to increase depending on experience). 401(k) Dental & Health insurance Life insurance PTO Professional development assistance Retirement plan Vision insurance.
