Job DescriptionThe Stockroom Supervisor assists in the management and supervision of personnel in the stockroom of a large, multi-venue food service facility, reporting to the Food Production Manager. This role encompasses a full range of stockroom functions, including receiving, shipping, issuing, ordering, inventorying, and storing products, supplies, and equipment. The supervisor inspects and verifies all shipping and receiving documents and requisitions for discrepancies and provides pickup and delivery services.Required Qualifications• Prior experience supervising employees, including assigning work, training, evaluating performance, and disciplining staff.• Considerable experience and knowledge of stockroom and warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, record-keeping procedures, and inventory control techniques.• Experience in making deliveries and loading and unloading products safely.• Knowledge of storage and handling techniques, as well as safety regulations.• Proficiency in operating equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.• Experience with inventory reports, spreadsheets, requisitions, invoices, and shipping logs.• Demonstrated ability to read, write legibly, weigh, measure, and perform routine mathematical calculations.• High school graduation or equivalent.• Effective communication skills and ability to work quickly and efficiently.• Valid Driver's LicensePreferred Qualifications• Demonstrated knowledge of computers and calculators.Pay Band2Appointment TypeRegularSalary InformationSalary $36,400 - $42,000 and commensurate with experienceReview DateApril 2, 2024Additional InformationWork Schedule: Monday - Friday and as needed for good customer serviceThe successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as a driving check with a safe driving record.About Virginia TechDedicated to its motto,Ut Prosim(That I May Serve), Virginia Tech pushes the boundaries of knowledge by taking a hands-on, transdisciplinary approach to preparing scholars to be leaders and problem-solvers.
