Staff Underwriter (Remote)

Job summary
Staff Underwriter position at UPMC Health PlanRemote position based in the East CoastAssess risk and utilize underwriting guidelines
Responsibilities
• Utilize rating models to appropriately rate groups insured by the Health Plan• Use pricing models to assess financial impact of benefit plan changes• Interact with various functional areas of the Health Plan as a resource for pricing and risk analysis• Assess risk and insurability of current and prospective groups• Monitor regulatory changes and implement them in the risk assessment and rating process
Requirements
• B.S. degree in Mathematics, Finance, Business Administration, or related area• Competency in mathematics/statistics• Computer skills• Attention to detail, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, ability to work in teams, and ability to deal with ambiguity
Key Skills Needed
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP's, Pivot Tables)• Degree in Math, Finance, or Actuarial Science (preferred)
