Job Description Description:
The Staff Expeditor is responsible for providing the expediting deliverables for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects upon receipt of an approved purchase order through the closeout of the project.- Track the receipt, inspection, approval and return of all deliverables required by the contract. - Monitor and report the supplier's production schedule to ensure milestones are being met. - Prepare and present schedule updates and other status reports to the project team. - Assess potential fabrication or shipment delays and collaborate with the supplier to resolve to meet deliverables. - Consult with the supplier to ensure timely transportation and lifting plans and communicate these plans to the jobsite according to construction sequencing parameters. - Manage and schedule deliveries to multiple sites and serves as a liaison between the supplier and the site personnel. - Manage material deliveries onsite and identify and report discrepancies to the supplier and recommend resolution of the discrepancies. - Ensure final documentation is submitted for completion of payment milestones.- Performs other duties as assigned - Complies with all policies and standards
Office-based position (not field materials management)Track major equipment delivery dates by reviewing Client Supply Chain documentation, reports, and developing regular communication channels with VendorsTrack delivery dates and communicate readiness to project manager, site team, and client stakeholdersTrack minor material ordersPrimary vendors: IRBY/Pepco (substation minor material packager) and Power Line Supply (transmission line material packager)Review BOMs and compare to Purchase Orders to verify accuracy of item description and quantitiesVerify status of quotes and ordersProduce reports to assist Project Managers in material readiness meetings.Reports will show purchase order status, lead times, vendor production schedules, vendor updates, delivery dates, and any issues with production or delivery dates.Help identify possible workarounds to maintain schedule to Client's Materials Management group and Project Teams.Be knowledgeable of Transmission Line, Substation, and Communications material and equipmentOccasionally visit vendor facilities to verify production readinessRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, business administration, engineering or related discipline and minimum 4 years' related work experience is requiredRelated work experience includes supply chain, material tracking, or procurementSuccessful track record in a procurement organizationExcellent organization skills and proficiency in Microsoft excel.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Possess a sense of urgency around accomplishing goals.
