Details of the offer

Execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced electrical engineering techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment, and/or technological methods. Coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports, or project design assignments. Responsible for performing power system studies and system protection settings coordination on various projects (Up to 500-kV voltage level). Develop design basis documentation for protective settings and generate native relay configuration files. Conduct design reviews, and support quality control. Assist project manager to develop scope of work and conceptual design for the projects. Train, guide, and mentor less experienced team members. Support business development and marketing initiatives. Domestic travel required up to 15% for site visits, client visits, and technical conferences. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Multiple positions available.

Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus three (3) years of power engineering industry experience. Alternatively, the employer will also accept a Master's in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus two (2) years of power engineering industry experience.

Must have at least two (2) years of experience with the following:

* Development of protective relay settings in Transmission, or Distribution industry.* Utilizing system modelling software programs (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM, etc.) for power system studies such as short circuit studies or protection coordination studies* Protection schemes and philosophies commonly applied at Transmission, and Distribution substations.* Developing native relay setting files using vendor specific software programs (SEL's AcSELerator, GE's Enervista software, etc.)* Design calculations, including short circuit calculation, current transformer performance and ratio selection, over-current element coordination, zone-distance element selection and coordination, and relay loadability calculation.

Domestic travel required up to 15% of the time for site visits, client visits, and technical conferences. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year.
