We are seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant to oversee and ensure financial compliance by meticulously maintaining financial procedures and records, while also preparing comprehensive reports and statements. The successful candidate will be responsible for meticulously tracking assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax obligations, and other pertinent financial activities.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct month-end closing procedures, including the development of financial reports for submission to the corporate office.
-Collaborate with sales, engineering, and manufacturing managers to analyze costs for existing and potential business ventures, accurately calculating material costs and determining necessary production operations.
-Evaluate monthly inventories, including finished goods, work in progress, and obsolete items, to inform financial reporting.
-Perform annual inventory revaluations and provide explanations for any variances from previous years.
-Coordinate the annual cost roll-up of manufactured costs, liaising with internal departments to gather updated material costs, standard rates, process specifications, and overhead percentages.
-Maintain and update data files regularly, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
-Engage in projects related to costing, cost analysis, and financial studies as assigned.
-Interface with other team members regarding costing inquiries, new business quotations, or analysis reports related to costs or scrap materials.Agency HeadStart - GL
Salary $75-85K (Sweet spot is the $80-85K, if you have a 3-4 year superstar and $$ is off, call me)

Backstory: This is a division of a larger global industrial manufacturing company with HQ in France. Is a sister division to the PA location where we made a Controller placement. CFO for PA also oversees this site.
Working with HR at this location directly. Agreement was signed out of the NA HQ.
Controller will be a tough interview. Will look to interview with specific skill set questions to see if the experience on resume is Fluff or Actual experience.
They have been interviewing on their ad responses. All candidates have been non-degreed and all transactional AP/AR. And were unable to understand general accounting questions related to Balance Sheet, Reconciliations, P&L
Looking for a solid base of knowledge in GL Accounting and ideally some experience.

Coordinate annual cost roll-up of manufactured costs which includes working with other internal departments to collect latest material costs, methods, standard rates, process specifications, process changes that effect product cost, and determine overhead percentages by department
Maintain data files on a day-to-day basis and update annually
Participate in projects relating to costing, cost savings, cost analysis, or financial studies as assigned
Interact with other personnel for any costing inquiries or possible new business quotations or analysis reports pertaining to cost or scrap
Required Skills:
General knowledge and respect of confidentiality and control functions
Understanding and experience of ERP/MRP platforms
Demonstrated strong analytical, prioritization, and communication skills
Experience or knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices
Proficient with Mecrosoft Office Suite
Knowledge of JD Edwards, desired
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business preferred
Associate's degree with work experience may substitute for Bachelor's degree
