Job Summary: The Staff Accountant II will collaborate with team members in all areas of financial reporting, including the preparation of US GAAP financial statements for Allegis Corporate Services and select other entities. This position could be exposed to a multitude of accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, creation and maintenance of account reconciliations, abandoned property filings, and research into historical journal entries and transactions. This position will be responsible for ensuring that accounting principles, practices, and procedures are developed and followed to ensure a timely and accurate financial statement close. The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player who is adaptable and possesses a strong attention to detail.


Responsibilities Essential Functions:  Ensure the timely reporting of monthly financial statements for select entities, in accordance with US GAAP Review and filing of consolidated abandoned property reports on a timely basis Support the Controller and Senior Financial Analyst by completing monthly close responsibilities and ad hoc requests Handle non-routine transactions and accounting issues on a  regular basis, with limited direction from Supervisor Collaborate with team members during ongoing initiatives to develop and implement new procedures Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's financial reporting processes and general ledger structure, as they relate to this role Assist supervisor with preparation of journal entries and various detailed supporting documents, such as reconciliations, audit support, and variance analysis, as required Qualifications Minimum Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 1+ years of public accounting and/or private industry experience Skill/Abilities: Strong level of attention to detail and accuracy of information Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to learn new systems, concepts, and processes quickly Ability to work independently on projects with limited supervision Ability to work under strict deadlines Excellent teamwork skills Strong organization and documentation skills Proficient verbal and written communication skills Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel Experience with PeopleSoft is a plus, but not a requirement Core Competencies: Build relationships Develop people Lead change Inspire Others Think critically Communicate clearly Create accountability
