As a Senior Underwriter, you are responsible for building a book of business as well as coaching and mentoring underwriters and underwriting assistants. You will be responsible for analyzing and underwriting a profitable book of business while developing a team of Underwriter I's and Underwriting Assistants. The majority of this role will be spent analyzing and underwriting a book of business for Commercial Lines which includes determining risk acceptability, pricing, underwriting guidelines, developing positive agency relationships within assigned territories, auditing underwriting files and accounts and improving on underwriting processes. In addition to the underwriting function of your role, you will serve as a front-line manager of Velocity, developing a team of Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants through proactive coaching and engagement in their daily performance to build their skills and proficiencies. You will partner with the department AVP's and Head of MMB to proactively solution and present new ideas for better underwriting framework and product offerings.
