Sr. Software Engineer

Position Description:Sr. Software Engineer for Medtronic, Inc. located in Lafayette, CO. Apply technical expertise towards developing world-class solutions using software engineering tools to solve complex technical problems related to surgical navigation, robotics, and imaging products. Participate in technical reviews, select the most promising concepts, implement advances in current state-of-the-art software technology, and identify opportunities for productivity and quality improvement. Leverage expertise in software development in Ultrasound modality using C++ and C#. Utilize various other programming languages and scripting languages including Java and Python. Responsible for the requirement gathering, design, development, test, and document software systems and system components. Coordinate large-scale software design including Object Oriented Analysis and Object-Oriented Design (OOA/OOD) and design patterns with experience in Unified Modeling Language (UML) for software design. Provide development on Linux platform and Git-based version control systems. Work on Database mgmt. systems including MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle DBMS (Database Mgmt. Systems).Develop software for Digital image processing using OpenCV library. Leverage knowledge from software development experience in the medical industry or other regulated industry. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.Basic Qualifications:Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related technical or engineering field, and five (5) years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation in the medical industry or other regulated industry. Must possess at least five (5) years of experience with each of the following: C++, C#, and Python; software design including OOA/OOD and UML; software requirement gathering, design, development, debugging, and test practices; development on Linux platform and Git modern version control systems; MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle DBMS; and digital image processing using OpenCV library.Must possess at least two (2) years of experience with the following: ultrasound modality.
