Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic Senior IT Software Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, testing, and debugging software in a Windows client/server environment. Utilizing your expertise in languages such as PL/SQL, Oracle, Progress 4 GL Application Development Environment (ADE), .Net, Microsoft SQL, and more, you will play a crucial role in shaping our cutting-edge solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze user needs and design specifications to meet end-user requirements.
Develop and modify software to meet outlined specifications, ensuring compliance with insurance carrier and regulatory requirements.
Conduct thorough testing and debugging of assigned projects, providing support to fellow team members as needed.
Prepare comprehensive documentation for new and existing software, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
Investigate and address call escalations from the support staff, making necessary corrections to data and/or software.
Contribute to the professional growth of fellow programmers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Adhere to departmental standards and guidelines, striving for the highest quality of customer service.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
Six years of language development
experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in language development and applications design.
Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed performance competencies.
