Amazon is seeking Sr. leaders to work with the Central Operations Process Engineering (PE) team. The PE team is a globally diverse group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization and continuous improvement for the Global Customer Fulfillment ( GCF ) Network. This team is essential to establish and execute benchmark operating standards, accelerate implementation of technology advancements and to strengthen process knowledge for the operational leaders across the FC network. As we continue to rapidly grow our FC footprint and infuse the organization with new talent, we need to ensure the operations teams are equipped with the needed process knowledge, established standards and benchmark practices for great process control. The team will utilize tools to understand process control and establish process understanding with the outcome of minimizing variation between shifts, buildings and regions, by driving standard operating procedures to deliver strong performance. The team will also work closely with ACES leadership to define, teach, and translate standard work across the GCF Network. Some of the position's key responsibilities include:
As a Sr. Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead a diverse team of leaders with the objectives to pursue variation reduction, optimize standard work to reduce cost, and build mechanisms to drive compliance toward the standards. You will be responsible for the prioritization of efforts within a region and the network to reduce variation from the standards and ultimately improve process control and performance. This role requires the ability to insist on the highest standards for process execution, interpret data, and lead through influence to deliver meaningful results translating to tangible productivity and efficiency gains across the FC network. Some of the position's key responsibilities include:
Strategic Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Evaluate performance objectives and metrics across the network to proactively identify process improvement opportunities and largest gaps to benchmark performance supporting prioritization efforts for improvement opportunities
Work backwards to develop clear roadmaps/milestones of how your network will exceed cost commitments across material process paths
Audit, teach, and drive execution to the benchmark standards while acting as a catalyst for continuous improvement and project deployment in the network
Partner with regional directors to execute implementation of established standard work and process improvements driving stabilization and standardization across the network
Partner with ACES for reviewing critical inputs, new training, best practice sharing, and documentation to drive benchmark performance
Execute, measure and support communication of project impacts in partnership with the site leaders responsible for day to day operations
Work with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, AFT , Learning and Talent Development and ACES to deliver and deploy network wide initiatives
Can think big and has the front-line operational skills to identify and implement solutions that scale with our scale
Strong knowledge of web based tools to extract metrics (i-graphs, CAMP )
Comfortable coaching leaders and ensuring all process stake holders are up to speed with system related changes
Proven ability to objectively analyze complex situations and execute on immediate and time-bound action items
Comfortable frequently traveling, allowing for the opportunity to observe, develop, and implement corrective process strategies
Can skillfully motivate and influence individuals of all levels to deliver results on complex objectives
Mentors and develops a team of 5-10 leaders
Participates in recruiting to identify internal/external candidates for promotion and hire.
Additional Job Elements:
Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each
Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head
Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
Should be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation.
Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field or 2+ years of Amazon experience
- Direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics environment
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies
- Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations
- Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
- Ability to travel up to 50% as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering, Operations or Business Administration
- 5+ years of experience as a manager in engineering, manufacturing, production or distribution environment
- 3+ years of people management and development experience
- Demonstrate a track record of problem-solving and analytical skill, and of achieving results in similar work or operational environments
- Ability to motivate self, a team, and operations partners to meet expectations when given a deadline
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in FC Operations
- Experience driving change management within site environments
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills as well as good business judgment
- Cross-functional project management experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to successfully develop others into higher levels of leadership in an organization
The pay range for this position in Colorado is USD135,000 – 182,700 /yr. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via Amazon's internal or external careers site.
The pay range for this position in Jersey City is $135,000 – 182,700(yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Pay Transparency Regulation of Jersey City Municipal Code. Base pay information is based on market location.
