Sr. Product Software Engineer - Automotive

Talascend is currently seeking a Sr. Product Software Engineer - Automotive for a contract opportunity located in Auburn Hills, MI.

DURATION: 8-12 months with possible extension
LOCATION: Auburn Hills, MI (On-Site) with ability to work a W2 Assignment

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze, design, develop and maintain Automation Software for Emissions and Fuel Economy testing.
Work with end-users to gather requirements.
Analyze the customer's requirements.
Design the software system to satisfy user specifications.
Develop the needed software.
Test the software thoroughly.
Generate documentation for all developed software.
Integrate 3rd party devices into the software system.
Evaluate 3rd party software to determine if it is beneficial for the Department.
Provide software support for all users including requesting Engineers, Operators, and Management.
Perform software maintenance tasks to the PCs, Operating System, Database, etc.
Work with team members to design new features and address software issues.
Work with different groups within and outside the Department to debug and correct complex issues.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with related experience.
Minimum 2 years' experience in software programming.
Minimum 2 years' experience programming utilizing C, C++, or C#.
Minimum 2 years' experience programming Relational Database DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, etc.
Minimum 2 years' experience programming under Windows and/or UNIX Operating Systems.
Excellent Communication skills.
Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Programming experience under Linux Operating System.
Web-based programming experience utilizing Java and React is a plus.
Automotive experience.
Familiar with electrical and mechanical devices.
