DESCRIPTION This role requires working closely with Business Stakeholders, Engineering and other Scientists within RME and across Amazon to deliver science solutions at Global scale. You will lead high visibility and high impact programs collaborating with various teams (both technical and non technical).
The ideal candidate will be an expert with hands-on experience in the areas of Operations Research, Machine Learning and Statistics. This role requires a candidate who is able to balance technical and business judgment about technology, models and methodologies.
Key job responsibilities
1) Implement an advanced maintenance framework (condition based monitoring approaches) to drive equipment performance resulting in reduced unplanned downtime.
2) Operations Research - Building Labor planning solution that allows optimal schedule for technicians in RME.
3) Build a global condition based alerting system sends notifications to the sites ahead of potential equipment failure.
A day in the life
As a Senior Data Scientist in DST you will be focused on leading the design and development of innovative approaches and solutions through technical work supporting RME's Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Condition Based monitoring programs. You will connect with Global Leaders in your field to understand their pain points and provide recommendations on the solutions. The appropriate choice of scientific methods and their deployment into effective tools will be key for success in this role.

About the team

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Bellevue, WA, USA BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 4+ years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling and communication experience
- Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression
- Bachelors Degree with 6 years of experience in Machine Learning, Statistics or Operations Research
