We are seeking a dynamic, analytical, organized, and Think Big Sr. Business Developer to join Amazon Air's Fleet, Aviation Sourcing & Technical (FAST) team. The position will be based in Bellevue, WA, with a secondary option of Nashville, TN
This candidate will lead business development and procurement strategy for ground support equipment (GSE) and help Amazon Air invent the ramp of the future. This will require managing multiple internal and external discussions concurrently, including but not limited to hosting program and business reviews, establishing procurement long-term strategy, and authoring business case in partnership with Engineering, Finance, Safety, Site Operations, and Learning teams.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of aviation experience in ground handling operations with a deep passion for technology. The ideal candidate is an astute negotiator, and a self-starter possessing the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and autonomously. They will excel at challenging the status quo, be insatiable about disrupting the industry, and driven by our safety and speed priorities.
Key job responsibilities
• Devise, incubate, and scale GSE groundbreaking initiatives to increase safety, performance and meet customer needs
• Leverage industry knowledge to introduce forward thinking and sustainable GSE into the network fleet
• Track safety incidents and work closely with Safety team to recommend solutions
• Review Telematics data pertaining to equipment utilization and safety, take actions to ensure the network can operate, and make network optimization recommendations
• Lead contract negotiations with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
• Generate Purchase Orders, review invoices, and ensure vendors meet obligations
• Perform Total Cost of Ownership (TOC), layout design, cost/benefit analysis, labor productivity analysis (time studies, standardized work), and safety/ergonomic/human factors
• Track production and manage on-site deliveries for all new and existing sites by working directly with site managers
• Develop and manage Ground Support Equipment documentation in close partnership with training/learning teams
• Develop processes and work closely with operations team to help manage transfer of equipment between sites
• Improve overall organizational capability through systems and MBR/QBR processes
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization
• Travel up to 25%, primarily domestic with possible international business trips

Bellevue, WA, USA | Nashville, TN, USA BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience in developing, negotiating and executing business agreements
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience with business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related discipline
