Job DescriptionExperience Required: 3 to 5 years work experience in a similar retail inventory analyst positionSuperior analytical and problem solving skills;MUST HAVE advanced MS Excel skills, including the use of macros; Working knowledge of relational database and SQL,Experience with MS SharePointExperience Desired: 1-3 years experience in Retail Inventory ManagementEducation Desired: Bachelors Degree Inventory Management, Supply Chain or related fieldMBA a definite assetTravel Required: less than 10% across the Giant Eagle network of storesJob ResponsibilitiesServe as the lead on developing, building and monitoring the shrink budget. Provide budgeting and planning support to our business partners. Facilitate forecasting processes through the analysis of key business functions, data and relationships.Analytics/Reporting: Develop new reporting and analytics to identify trends in sales, inventory, shrink and margin data across all lines of businesses. Build various analytical tools & models to evaluate key business analytics and conduct cost/benefit analyses. Create conceptual prototypes and mockups and communicate the results of analysis work through graphics, written reports, and meeting presentations. Prepare various reports for shrink upon request.Strategic Thinking: Offer ideas and strategies on innovative approaches for cost saving initiatives. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the company's data sources and provide ways to streamline reporting to improve efficiencies.Front End Transaction Monitoring: Utilize Secure (Appriss Retail) to interrogate point of sale transaction data, identify patterns that indicate increased risk of loss, and use various techniques, other data and surveillance video to quantify the amount in question and prepare a case to submit to our loss prevention team for further investigation, interview and recoveryRelationship Building: Build relationships and maintain a strong understanding of the various lines of businesses throughout the company. Assist business leaders in determining where sales, inventory, shrink and margin opportunities exist within their departments. Stay connected to the Retail Business by visiting stores to understand work processes and effectiveness of Inventory Management driven practices. Work with IT by suggesting improvements to existing analytical tools and reports.Teamwork: Maintain a basic understanding of how to lead others on the Inventory Management team through training and communication.
