Protective is hiring a Payroll Specialist II to administer Protective's functions for our Exempt, Bi-weekly and Monthly payroll processes. This position will handle complex calculations such as deferrals of pay, multi-state taxation and creating and uploading imports. This position would be expected to perform tasks with minimal supervision and assistance. The successful candidate will play an important role in our Time Management system and ensuring Protective's Employees are paid accurately and timely.
Responsibilities:

Ability to recognize payroll issues and work with the team to resolve.
Responsible for creating check requests with SAP software, for specific deductions.
Work with other internal departments to ensure questions related to employee pay and other areas of responsibility are accurately resolved.
Perform balancing procedures related to importing files from other systems into the payroll system.
Work within the Time and Attendance system to make edits and adjustments.
Understand basic principles related to how taxes work in regard to employee payments.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing to employees and managers in response to questions.
Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements/Skills:

Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field preferred
2-3 years of experience in Accounting, Payroll or Tax, Payroll experience preferred
Ability to analyze information and convert related activities into a plan
Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts and recommend conclusions
Ability to perform multiple assignments
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information
Demonstrated problem solving, time management and priority setting skills
Experience with Ultimate Software and SAP is a plus
Experience in working with Time and Attendance systems is a plus
Strong Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel skills
$41,600 - $55,446 a year

Protective's targeted salary range for this position is $41,600 to $55,446. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees.

This position also offers additional incentive opportunitiesthrough an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
