Job summary
The FarmAble Specialist assists with coordinating program activities designed to assist veteran and underserved farmers and ranchers in Colorado with obtaining USDA resources and loans through the provision of technical assistance, training, supportive services, outreach, and relationship-building.They aim to help these farmers and ranchers operate successful and sustainable farms and ranches.The position requires a Master's degree and a minimum of two years of related experience.

Responsibilities
• Provide information on farm economics and access to USDA programs through various channels such as live presentations, online learning, podcasts, and newsletters.• Coordinate interviews with farmers/ranchers and assist in completing service applications.• Host financial literacy workshops, provide one-on-one technical assistance, and mentor underserved military veteran farmers and ranchers.• Improve participation among underserved or military veteran farmers and ranchers in USDA programs.• Build relationships between farmers/ranchers and USDA offices.• Collaborate with AgrAbility program and Colorado State University Extension.• Identify and develop relationships with community-based and governmental agencies.• Assist with drafting reports to detail program outcomes.• Facilitate teamwork, track programs, and support evaluation and reporting of program investments.• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
• Master's degree in a related field and two years of experience, or Bachelor's degree in a related field.• Background and experience in human services and/or serving disabled and/or rural populations preferred.• First aid and CPR certification required.• Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Teams.• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.• Ability to occasionally travel overnight and out of state for continuing education.• Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
