Based in our Chanhassen, MN location, you will work with the Director of Manufacturing Software Engineering and be responsible for a team of software engineers. The Manufacturing Software and Data Support (MSDS) team provides a critical capability to Emerson and supports $1B in annual revenue. 
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Leading a team of full-stack software engineers who design, develop, test, deploy, and support the software, APIs, databases, and server systems that run Pressure Subassembly's diverse manufacturing systems. Handling software projects and coordinating the day-to-day tasks of local and remote engineers (direct and indirect reports) in Minnesota and Beijing, China. Collaborating with several teams of manufacturing engineers and engineering leaders to derive requirements, prioritize resources, and deliver innovative manufacturing software that aligns with overall business objectives. Ensuring robust software change request processes that deliver high-quality solutions on time and meet our internal customers' needs. Serving as a member of the Manufacturing Software Leadership Team to support Pressures Subassembly Quality Goals and Strategic Initiatives through software solutions and multi-functional strategic decisions. Cultivating an engaging work environment that attracts and retains high-level software engineering talent. Mentoring and coaching employees on their performance and task management as well as their professional, technical, and career development. Supporting the MSDS team's role in providing on-call operational support to ensure production uptime. Modeling and instilling safety, quality, and continuous improvement behaviors.  Who You Are: You successfully communicate and relate comfortably with people across levels, functions, cultures, and geography. For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field  Minimum six (6) or more years of related experience Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided. Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Familiarity with any of the following is advantageous for leading this multidimensional software and infrastructure team: Software languages (C#, VB6 & JavaScript are prominent), Software architectures (primarily API-backed architectures) Continuous Integration tools and practices and Operational metrics and alerting tools and practices Microsoft and Linux server administration (including Docker) Microsoft SQL Server (including Always-On Availability Groups) Data management and modeling General Oracle knowledge  Flexible Work Schedule - Remote Work Option and Core Hours: This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to two days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm.
