Description: A Student Management Specialist helps create a positive environment for students and promotes healthy relationships between students, teachers, and parents. They assist students in improving their behavior and provide personalized interventions when needed. They also contribute to maintaining discipline and systems in the school. Job Summary: This position involves:
Supporting the principal in managing the middle school program Assisting teachers and staff with concerns about student attendance, development, and discipline Collaborating with guidance counselors, police liaison officers, psychologists, and social workers to meet with students and parents and address attendance and behavior issues Engaging in conferences or communication with families to address attendance and behavior concerns Resolving student behavior issues fairly and promptly and keeping records of disciplinary actions Monitoring the school building and grounds to prevent vandalism Contributing to creating policies and rules to improve student behavior Participating in strategies to enhance student performance, attendance, and development Helping maintain campus control and security Building and maintaining relationships with parents, families, and students Contributing to the establishment of rules for students in the in-school suspension/detention room Responding to written and verbal communication regarding student development and discipline matters Attending meetings and serving on committees when directed by the principal Taking responsibility when all administrators are absent from the building Performing various tasks and assuming additional responsibilities as assigned by the principal Qualifications : Educational Requirement: Bachelor's Degree
