We are looking for an experienced RF / SI simulation / test engineer to expand our Cable and interconnect Signal Integrity Engineering to model, simulate, analyze, characterize high-speed cables, fixtures, connectors, and whole system solutions. The RF / SI Signal Integrity Engineer will be a focal point in providing technical leadership to develop application-specific solutions and provide test and measurement support data. You will conduct research on new and emerging areas of cables, materials, standard committees, and science for use in industries such as Automotive and others. This position is onsite at Molex Rochester Hills, MI location. Our Team

Our office in Rochester Hills, MI office focuses on automotive applications specialty Data connectivity connectors, interconnect systems and high-speed cable, and invests heavily in research and development to provide technological solutions to our automotive customers. We provide a wide variety of high-speed systems designed to withstand temperature and chemical exposures which may include: UTP, STP, SPP, Coaxial Cables, Twin ax Cables, Microminiature Cables and much more. What You Will Do Works closely with Product Marketing group to understand customer needs, and with the Product Development group to implement new designs applying SI design simulation considerations. Identification and development of innovative concepts to achieve industry-leading signal delivery solutions especially for, but not limited to, RF signals. Development of high-level product objectives into discrete, specific product requirements. Effective collaboration with global supply base to arrive at economically viable solutions. Lead product simulation for next generation differential interconnect systems, coaxial connectors, and coaxial cable products and technology to mate with industry standard RF connectors. Support product management with data to help develop and implement the product and technology roadmap for Automotive high-speed connectors and cable products. Utilize knowledge of product design, termination techniques, materials, processes, production equipment, and testing to aid in problem solving. Work with design engineers to help organize relevant information on product drawings, specifications, and documentation in accordance with applicable test standards. Work with process engineers to improve product quality and consistency through testing methods and standards. Support test and measurement of cable modeling/simulation, trial runs, engineering experiments, DOEs as necessary to achieve improvement in performance and consistency. Lead product test team to determine product performance, define specifications and test plans, and trouble shoot performance deficiencies - Testing includes electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Prepare and deliver technical presentations based on testing products. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or PhD combined with experience in product development testing or simulation Experience with simulating and testing of coaxial connectors, differential connectors, coaxial cable, UTP, STP, SPP products experience with cable test methods and equipment such as VNA, TDR's, thermal chambers. Familiarity with concepts in time and frequency domain such as impedance, propagation delay, phase stability, insertion loss, return loss, and skew. Knowledge of signal integrity, including electromagnetic theory, designing for impedance control, minimizing dielectric losses, and controlling electromagnetic emissions. Experience developing electrical connectors, including materials, analysis, and testing with VNA, TDR Experience in microwave cable, STP cable, SPP cable or other type of high-speed connector / cable testing. Experience using VNA, TDR and Oscilloscope What Will Put You Ahead B.S in Electrical Engineering Degree or Physics or other similar degree with discipline related to Electrical / Electromagnetic Modeling Software experience with S-pare data knowledge of DOE (Design of Experiments) Process and Manufacturing engineering experience related to signal integrity testing. Software knowledge Ansys HFSS, CST, FEKO, Altium, ADS and other SI/RF tools.
