The primary purpose of the Sheet Metal Mechanic is the installation of metal/board HVAC systems. Assemble and install metal duct and fiberglass board. Blue print reading and understanding of sheet metal shop drawings. Work with all phases of duct installation (spiral, rectangular, double wall, welded). Understanding of different connectors that are used. Field measuring and Hanger layout Organize work area and maintain all hand tools. Required Education, Experience and Qualifications Minimum of 6 months experience in any type of sheet metal and fiberglass duct installation on commercial/residential projects. Must have own Sheet Metal hand tools, company supplies power tools. Must be able and willing to follow job-site instructions. Comfortable with heights. Lift heavy materials at heights. Preferred Education, Experience and Qualifications OSHA 10 or 30 hour preferred. Physical/Work Environment Requirements Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs, be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, climb, kneel and twist
Must be able to climb ladders, work both inside and outside, and around moving equipment safely.
