Responsibilities
• Initiates and manages clinical referrals• Acts as a liaison for various parties involved in referrals• Reviews referrals for completeness and follows up• Assigns referrals to staff• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorizations• Maintains database of insurance companies• Contacts physician offices for information• Enters referrals and documents communications
Requirements
• Requires a HS diploma and minimum 1 year of healthcare experience• Preferred medical experience and medical terminology knowledge• Experience in Utilization Management role• Strong navigation skills• Independent thinker• Ability to work under pressure• Efficient in customer service and multitasking
