The Digital Service Technician provides field technical service to maximize press up-time and press utilization. This role requires significant travel. Candidate must live within 60 minutes of a major airport.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides planned preventative maintenance performance work and support per the terms of service contract or work order guidelines. Installs new products and trains customers on the product uses, safety, press operation, best practices, and maintenance. Provides field technical service support for planned and unplanned warranty and break-fix services. Includes troubleshooting and repair of software, hardware, network, electrical components, and systems. Takes all actions needed to maintain an exceptional customer experience in every situation. Captures, logs, and communicates work details performed; Escalates client difficulties. Documents and communicates all work required including service reports, expense reports, installation feedback, etc. Escalates any opportunity to improve process capabilities, press utilization, client satisfaction and opportunities for sales of Mark Andy products and services. Routinely interacts with Engineering to drive product updates to enhance product performance and reliability. Performs work while always portraying Mark Andy in a positive manner. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent customer service and interaction skills. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving for both mechanical and electrical areas. Knowledge of digital ink jet printing systems (heads, inking systems, alignments, software controls, etc.) Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical drawings. Strong understanding of servo drives, PLC controls and circuits. EXPERIENCE: 5 years of technical service experience. Significant experience with the printing industry and web transport experience. Experience troubleshooting and problem solving for electrical, pneumatic, software, and hardware relevant to overall press control, print issues and digital printing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This positions requires significant travel, up to 100% of the time. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer's facilities.  Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.  OTHER DUTIES: Job description is not designed to cover a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
