In this role you will repair and/or rebuild privately owned machines, and rentals to be sold to a growing and demanding customer base. Shop Service Representatives provide quality customer service and communication to minimize costs and ensure satisfaction.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, air and water-cooled combustion engines, and diesel-gas-LP powered engine problems on all Tennant productsMaintain records of all service activities through the use of completed repair orders, machine checklists, and expense reportsEstimate machine repair/rebuild requirements and prepare necessary data to provide and accurate repair quoteResponsible for proper and safe use, maintenance, and reporting of Tennant Company property. This includes tools and equipmentConsistently present a professional image, both in personal appearance and condition of company equipmentResponsible for completing work in a timely manner and using appropriate judgement to ensure quality and cost targets are achieved on each completed machineREQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:High school diploma or equivalent, vocational or tech school diploma a plus3+ years of experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mobile equipmentDemonstrated experience working with one or more of the following. Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, air and water-cooled combustion engines, and diesel-gas-LP powered enginesAble to read blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematicsAbility to pass a background check and drug screenDemonstrated ability to work with minimal supervisionCan safely use hand and power tool, equipment, and diagnostic devicesBasic understanding and knowledge of how to use a personal computer, email, and Tennant systemsMust provide own basic hand tools, specialty shop tools are providedPrevious experience and proven record of working in a lean/continuous improvement work environment desiredREQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Routinely lifts up to 40 pounds individually with most items weighing between 2 and 20 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 90 pounds. Assistance is provided for items weighing over 60 poundsWorks in multiple positions during a shiftPosition requires sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pullingPosition requires bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting on a daily basis.
