Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.DescriptionJob Summary:Under general supervision, contributes to the growth and profitabilityof assigned specialty product line(s) through marketing, underwriting andmanaging of the Cyber/Technology Liability, product.  Some risks may require special handling orunusual coverages, including manuscript policy development. Demonstratesfunctional technical knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, proceduresand techniques to include coverage issues, product lines, marketing, relevantsystems, and competition in the market place.Job Responsibilities:Risk Selection:  evaluates or assesses the business applying for insurance by qualifying accounts; identifying, selecting and assessing risks; determining the premium, policy terms and conditions; loss history review; financials review; obtaining approvals; creating/presenting the proposal to the agent/broker and successfully negotiating deals.Establishes and maintains relationships with the brokerage community to facilitate marketing of IronPro products and services. Includes marketing and travel to brokers and clients.Underwrites targeted new and renewal business of by reviewing and analyzing insured's (or prospective insured's) loss history, financials, and other pertinent information at the direction of the manager.Makes independent marketing calls to brokers and prospective insureds.Contributes to the development of marketing plans, product analysis, services, geographic focus and broker intelligenceCommunicates with other product line underwriters, managers and claims analysts in order to provide comprehensive customer servicePerforms related duties as requested to include, report preparation, presentations, and special projects to assist in ensuring the success of the product lineDocumenting the Deal: Documents files in a way that reflects a solid thought process and decision making through comprehensive account reviews, sign-offs and referralsContinuous Improvement: Actively participates in continuous improvement by fully engaging in daily huddles, generating suggestions, following appropriate procedures and work principles, participating in problem solving activities, and using continuous improvement tools to support the work of the teamQualificationsBA/BS degree or equivalent experience (insurance experience preferred)Three to four years of underwriting or equivalent experience requiredKnowledge of Professional Lines products preferredExpert in contract knowledge, underwriting, in-depth knowledge of regulatory and policy differences among states in which business is transacted, and knowledge of systems used to process businessDemonstrated depth in negotiation skillsAchieves excellent quality results and the highest referral listProficient PC skills and capable of working multi-faceted systemsAbility to effectively and independently manage work load while exhibiting good judgmentStrong verbal communication and phone skillsExcellent grammar and written communication skill requiredMust have strong relationship building skills with agents and other departments and exemplify teamworkCPCU/API designation preferredAbout UsAt Liberty Mutual, our purpose is to help people embrace today and confidently pursue tomorrow.
