This role is a hybrid role, requiring all candidates to reside or willing to relocate to Orlando, FL.

The role of Senior Systems Administrator is broken down into four distinct disciplines. That of Server, Network, Application, and Security Administration. An individual in this senior position must demonstrate a high level of competency in multiple disciplines. Participate in establishing enterprise systems standards. Assist in designing highly available systems infrastructure to improve technology operations.

Server Administration

Maintains server and data storage activities, including building, configuration, upgrading hardware and operating software as well as utilizing common enterprise tools.

Network Administration

Maintains network infrastructure including building, configuration and upgrading of network hardware and software. Utilizes common enterprise tools to monitor and report on data traffic patterns, bandwidth utilization and security risks.

Application Administration

Installs, configures, and maintains critical applications. This may include applications running on premises or in the cloud.

Security Administration

Administers systems security monitoring, auditing, and vulnerability mitigation. Maintains and administers Incident Reporting processes and tools to improve technology performance.

General Systems Administration

• Maintains overall responsibility for the availability and integrity of physical/virtual infrastructure.

• Provide Tier Two support; diagnose and quickly resolve problems in highly critical production environment. Document issues and elevate based on criticality.

• Coordinate incident resolution with external partners and service providers.

• Analyze Incident Reports and data, determine root causes, recommend, and implement improvements to reduce incidences and increase stability.

• Coordinate technology procurement requests, vendor quotes, approvals, and order placements.

• Fully support enterprise policies and standards of performance excellence by delivery exemplary services to all requestors.

• Communicate critical status of issues and activities to senior team members and management in a timely and clear manner.

• Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements where needed.

• Assist in new product evaluation, capacity and resource planning.

• Train on complex issue resolution and new technologies to be implemented.

• Participate in and plan afterhours maintenance events.

• Assist in development of disaster recovery / business continuity strategy and procedures. Actively participate in system recovery activities.

• Maintain knowledge base documentation that can be used for cross training.

• Ensure the records of all system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained.

• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Server Administration

• Perform server builds, configuration, and maintenance according to established standards.

• Install and support software including Exchange, SharePoint, Operating Systems, Active Directory, VMware as well as maintenance and monitoring tools.

• Administer systems security and access rights to the server and operating system.

• Installing OS, software updates, and patches.

• Administering SAN storage devices.

• Performing server backup and recovery operations including off-site storage and disaster recovery readiness.

• Plan, test and implement new operation systems releases, software upgrades, and information security tools and updates.

Network Administration

• Perform equipment builds, configuration and maintenance according to established standards.

• Administer systems security and access rights to networking equipment and operating system.

• Maintaining firewall security and general configurations.

• Installing network infrastructure related updates and patches.

• Performing network infrastructure backup and recovery operations including off-site storage and disaster recovery readiness.

• Plan, test and implement new network upgrades including information security tools and updates.

Application Administration

• Perform application configuration and maintenance according to established standards.

• Administer application specific security rights and access for products including Office 365 Exchange, SharePoint, VMware, VDI, Salesforce, Tableau, SQL, as well as other potential software either onsite or in the cloud.

• Assist in deployment of new applications and systems.

• Plan, test, and implement new software upgrades and information security tools and updates.

Security Administration

• Document and update vulnerability tickets.

• Installing software updates and patches.

• Enforce change management processes.

• Manage Incident Reporting tools and processes.

• Evaluate system configurations for compliance with best practice system hardening.

Assist in the development and maintenance of information security policy and procedures.

Requirements

Required:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in systems administration.

• Incident Reporting System management, support, and status/metrics reporting.

• Experience in information security tools and processes.

• Experience in Change Management best practices.

• Experience with effectively presenting technical ideas, solutions, and proposals to a diverse group of individuals.

• Strong PC, mobile devices, and peripheral knowledge.

• Proficient in supporting, analyzing, and maintaining key servers and tools such as Office 365 Outlook/Exchange, SharePoint, Windows operating systems, VMWare, VDI, Active Directory and associated maintenance/monitoring tools.

• Experience in Storage Area Network (SAN) management.

• Proficient working knowledge of network configuration.

• Experience deploying and supporting firewalls, switches, and routers.

• Strong security background.

Preferred:

• Knowledge and experience in UNIX/Linux operation systems.

• Experience in implementing high availability system infrastructure.

• Experience or knowledge in Azure based systems implementation.

• Experience in Disaster Recovery practices.

• Experience with PCI DSS.

• Experience with Cisco UCS Servers and NetApp SANs.

• Experience with Cisco and Ubiquiti devices.

• Experience with SIP communications.

Experience or knowledge of network protocols.

Education Required:

• Highschool Diploma

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field

Certifications: MCP, MCSE, CCNP or CCNA
