Summary: As a Senior Substation Physical Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionize utility and renewable energy ventures. Your expertise in physical design principles and substation optimization techniques will drive technical excellence and forge partnerships with stakeholders. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Lead and oversee substation physical and protection/controls designs, serving as a technical authority. Delegate design tasks as necessary to maintain project timelines and budgets. Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering their technical and professional growth. Coordinate seamlessly with PV, power studies, civil/structural, and other design disciplines. Ensure compliance with EVS quality standards through meticulous Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Act as a liaison in meetings with stakeholders and clients, facilitating effective communication. Create or supervise the creation of various drawings and perform substation calculations to ensure optimal design. Review shop/vendor drawings, address RFIs, and provide construction support services to clients. Qualifications: Minimum 7+ years' experience as a Substation Electrical Engineer in an engineering firm or EPC. 2+ years' experience leading and guiding teams, demonstrating leadership and direction. Professional Engineer Licensure or a clear path to obtain licensure within one year. Proficiency with NESC, NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards relevant to substation design. Experience creating relay settings files is desirable. Understanding of renewable energy engineering and systems is preferred. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and Mathcad. Functional understanding of AutoCAD or MicroStation is a plus. Passion for the renewable energy business and project development. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational and time management skills.
