Our team of Planners, Engineers, and Contract Administrators deliver infrastructure solutions that drive economic growth and social prosperity.
Our national HI group is comprised of engineers, technicians, and support personnel with diverse backgrounds in design and construction, committed to delivering excellent technical work and customer service to our clients. This national team has earned an exceptional reputation through successful delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects in Canada.
Responsibilities:
Act as project manager, structural lead, and designer for engineering assignments.
Responsible for transportation structural inspection assignments and be supervising engineer on biennial (OSIM) inspection assignments.
Attend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, construction, and post-construction review.
Lead and conduct the inspection of existing bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures.
Coordinate work with clients and other disciplines including highway/road, electrical, drainage, and environmental planning.
Analyze and evaluate appropriate design solutions for transportation structures.
Provide direction to project team members and support staff through verbal and written instructions.
Direct CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables prior to submission to client.
Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and cost estimates.
Provide recommendations and costing on required maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of structures.
Conduct business development activities to secure new projects and attend team progress meetings.
Qualifications:
BASc or B.Eng. in civil/structural engineering with strong interest and experience in bridge engineering.
P. Eng. status and 10+ years leading biennial inspection assignments and large transportation structures projects.
RAQS eligible within bridge engineering for biennial inspections. Attended the MTO 2021 Inspectors workshop.
Experience in various engineering tasks including proposal and report writing, asset management, project management, and bridge/culvert design.
Interest in working both in the office and field environment with strong computer skills and communication abilities.
Able to work in a team environment, excel in multi-disciplined projects, and interested in business development and staff mentoring.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to supervise and direct a team effectively.
Works well with minimal direction, holds a valid Ontario Driver's license, and has strong computer skills in relevant software.
