Job Description SummaryThe Hydro Projects and Services EHS leader for North America will be responsible of the EHS execution of site activities (service and large project work) across Hydro Power in North America. In your role, you will provide leadership and support to the Regional General Manager, the Regional Construction & Commissioning, and the Regional Services leaders. Partnering with the Hydro Global EHS team, he/she will develops & implements the regional EHS strategy that supports the EHS execution leading compliance & improvements in EHS key performance indicators. In his/her role, he will report to the Global Projects & Services EHS Leader.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesDevelop strong working relationship with the Regional operational leadership team driving the expected EHS culture across all operations,Develop and lead the Strategic Regional EHS Action Plan,Lead the ISO 14001 accreditation across his/her region.Provide P&S EHS resource to the Hydro ITO Global EHS leader for offer preparation. Validate the offer for EHS in the region ensuring the business being successful in gaining orders & executing sites in compliance with EHS requirements including contract language reviews.Identify site based continent EHS managers for projects and services sites and support their development ensuring appropriate EHS coverage and successful EHS execution of the site.Coordinate and participate in EHS event investigations and follow-up, as required,Prepare and participate to regular operational EHS reviews,Ensure all internal and external Regional EHS reporting are completed on time and with accuracy,Coordinate the EHS training for the regional population (assignments, follow-up, etc.)Drive ComplyWorks implementation within the region ensuring proper selection and evaluation of contractors.Participate and lead identified global initiatives,Provide support where needed to sites,Coordinate and participate in high-risk operation audits, tracking corrective actions to closure.Identify industrial hygiene sampling requirements based on project exposure risks. Help sourcing identify sampling plans and protocols based on contractual mandates and protect workers from unexpected exposures.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).Minimum of 10 years EHS experience, with exposure to several EHS areas in a Projects or Services environmentAbility and willingness to travel up to 50% of the timeDesired CharacteristicsDocumented 24 hours of safety related education for each of the last three to five years.OSHA 30 or higher within the last 5 years preferred.Professional certification such as CHST, ASP or CSP preferred.Knowledge of Oil and Gas, Electrification or Energy business.Knowledge of OSHA, State specific regulatory requirementsPractical experience in risk elimination, manufacturing & project management.Practical experience in risk elimination, ergonomics, and project management as it relates to high hazard tasks such as confined space entry, work at height, lock out tag out, fume management from welding operations, asbestos and lead management.Strategic thinker understanding business and EHS risk.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.High energy, self-starter a must.Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skillsFluent in French, strongly appreciated.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Trainer qualifications in topics such as CPR/First Aid/AED, Confined Space Rescue.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues with competing priorities.The base salary range for this position is $124,300-$160,800 USD/year. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
