Senior Service Engineer Location Redmond, WA (Overlake area) : By joining the Azure Storage release engineering team, you will be responsible for managing and deploying releases that ensure we continually exceed customer expectations and remain compliant. As cloud adoption accelerates and our fleet continues to grow, the emphasis on standardized processes and predictable release velocity is more important than ever. By joining our team, you will help drive robust release management processes with an impact on the experience of multiple teams within Azure as well as our customers. As a Senior Service Engineer in Azure Storage, you will be responsible for ensuring releases ship in a safe and timely manner, emphasizing customer experience and minimizing impact throughout the process. Close cross-functional collaboration between feature and PM (Program Management) counterparts is vital to the success of the service. You will have opportunities to learn about storage architecture, improve process and compliance posture, and drive problem management efforts. Responsibilities Fleetwide rollout of code and compliance payloads while complying with safe deployment practices. Collaborate with feature teams to refine and adhere to release pipeline strategy. Work with security, compliance, and audit teams to enhance and maintain compliance posture. Ensure quality bars met for release signoff prior to deploying to production. Prioritizing rollouts for preview and GA (General Availability) features. Provide visibility to leadership on status and make necessary course corrections based on business needs and constraints. Assist in onboarding additional component teams and integrate them into broader storage release/rollout strategy. Respond to and contribute to mitigation of incidents related to or impacting releases and deployments. Other Embody our culture and values Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering OR equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience working directly with software engineering teams. Experience managing projects for cross functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules. Additional or Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering OR equivalent experience. 7+ years of experience working directly with software engineering teams 3+ years technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems. Experience in written, verbal and articulation skills, and ability to present in large groups and handle communication across all management levels. Ability to drive priorities across multi-discipline teams and say "No" when it warrants. Demonstrate superior project management and troubleshooting skills. Identify risk early and develop efficient mitigation strategies. Have Customer first-attitude. Understanding of software development process with an appreciation for maintaining a high-quality bar with low operational overhead. Management Information Systems (MIS), or other industry or product specific Engineering Certifications. Understanding of performance drivers, bottlenecks, scale and operational excellence in both software and hardware Knowledge of computer science fundamentals and high-level design Understanding of system architecture layers of storage Understand Service runtime Dependencies with other components Experience working with data analytics and BI tools to produce business metrics Familiarity with KQL, SQL, or similar query language used to analyze and present data Service Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
