What we're looking for... The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day financial accounting functions including preparation of journal entries, financial statements, and month-end closing procedures. The Senior Property Accountant will also be accountable for fixed asset management, variance analysis, and budgeting. Additionally, the Senior Property Accountant will partner with property management to ensure timely and accurate reporting and analysis. This individual is expected to foster a collaborative work environment. It is essential that this person has excellent judgment and discretion when interacting with others and in managing information. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, able to multitask.

Major expectations & accountabilities (full details in Job Description) Responsible for accounting for a portfolio of properties including general ledger month-end close and supporting work papers. Support the real estate development team in creating and analyzing the Pro Forma for potential projects. Reviews balance sheets and income statement to ensure all transactions are recorded appropriately and in a timely manner. Analyzes and understands fluctuations in account balances and identifies drivers. Maintains and updates individual property workbooks reviewed by management. Reviews and approves payables ensuring proper GL coding and descriptions. Prepares budget to actual variance reports. Ensures compliance with internal controls and recommends additional policies and procedures to enhance controls. Manage state licensing vendor and process – renewals of existing and set up in new states.
What you'll need to be successful Four (4) years' degree in finance or accounting; relevant work experience may be substituted. Five (5) years of experience in a Property Accountant role or similar position. Experience in Sage 300 CRE, Procore and TimberScan is preferred but not required. Relentless focus on attention to details and accuracy in all area Results-orientated with proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; communicates effectively with management, employees, and vendors Proficient in MS Office and other required software tools Four (4) years' degree in finance or accounting; relevant work experience may be substituted. Qualifications that can set you apart 7 plus years' experience in a Property Accountant role Certification in Property Management
