TJT is looking for a seasoned program manager with space/military/commercial program experience, to manage infrared detector and focal plane array programs, with full ownership of cost, schedule, and technical performance

Position Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:
Responsible for the management and coordination of all programmatic and technical activities on assigned program for Teledyne Judson Technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage programs through all phases from RFP review, proposal preparation and submission, contract negotiation and definitization, program baseline and kickoff, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, qualification, validation, production and delivery.
Lead and coordinate multiple programs in parallel
Use standard practices for program schedule and cost management, and be responsible for maintaining and updating estimates (to complete, at completion).
Analyze, evaluate and plan approaches for complex technical problems developed by technical team members.
Identify, quantify, and mitigate risks through rigorous approaches.
Assemble and clearly communicate proposal information in gate reviews to upper management, including rigorous articulation of risks and compliance to customer specifications.
Act as front line communicator to customers, leading program reviews, status reports, teleconferences and visits to/by customers.
Interacts with highly technical internal personnel and external customers in all matters including contracts, finance, accounting and procurement
Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with program quality specifications.
Support marketing of programs and products to customers.
Identify and assist in the development patentable intellectual property.
Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders at varying levels; recognized as an influential ally.
Recognize the need for cross-boundary efforts and initiate and develop when they don't exist.
Identify, prioritize, and solve a broad span of difficult problems that are not isolated and usually contain a large number of variables or elements requiring new approaches to solution.
Manage programs with latitude/responsibility for most decision, with expectation that critical issues are raised to management in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

Demonstrated experience in /Space/military/commercial program management
Demonstrated capability for program risk management
Basic knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) practices is necessary, with advanced applied knowledge highly desirable
Knowledge of contract types and strategies for programs bid under different contracting types
Technical background in Electronics/Optics/Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering; Background in imaging, semiconductors, and infrared materials is a plus
Success in focusing, aligning, and building effective teams
Program development skills, including marketing to customers
Understanding of the impact of novel technologies in applications, specifically in infrared sensing
Commitment to improving key business metrics set up by upper management
Advanced computer proficiency level using Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint). Must be well versed in MS Project and resource loaded schedules
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with peers and partners
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to travel approximately two to four times per quarter, primarily in the U.S.

Education and/or Experience
Master Degree in Physics, Engineering or Science (Ph.D. desirable) and ten years of relevant experience required
Experience in managing multifaceted projects or complex programs involving unique and/or complex technologies
Experience in leading high performance team
US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance
