(MTSI) is seeking a part-time Senior Operational Test Manager who will be responsible for development and integration of multiple operational and strategic level hardware and software programs onto various Air Reserve Component (ARC) platforms. The candidate will oversee integration of new vendor systems and the formulation of their resultant tactical applications in support of Operational and Developmental Test events for the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC) and other DoD organizations. As a part-time Senior Operational Test Manager with MTSI, you will research and foster new funding streams, prospective technologies, and partnership relationships with various government and industry entities to enhance ARC platforms in accordance with ARC WEPTAC derived priorities.
Primary responsibilities are to:
Research new technologies and advise government personnel on changes and technical developments in air-to-air systems technologies.
Investigate / recommend new technologies, oversee a portfolio of test events, and monitor/manage/champion emerging programs to ensure the successful coordination and execution of a wide range of developmental and operational test events. Advise government personnel on new developments in complex defense technology. Utilize leading-edge technologies to formulate Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), effectively integrate new technologies into these concepts, and advise government customers on the best utilization of existing and emerging programs. Directly interface with high-level government leaders, program offices, and industry vendors to advise and keep them abreast of latest tactical and technical developments. Be responsible for both conceptual and technical implementation of required software and hardware architecture into ARC aircraft, along with the synchronization efforts with the applicable program office. Provide expertise in the following areas: fighter weapon systems; tactical subject matter expert; operational and developmental test planning & execution; test plan formulation; CONOPs development; radar/infrared targeting systems. Operate in multidisciplinary teams of industry, government and military personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, scientists, pilots, and aircrew. Understand the operation and tactical applications of all the above systems and their interfaces with Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve aircraft and systems as the candidate will operate in fast paced teams of industry, government and military personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, scientists, pilots, and other aircrew. Directly support AATC in the development of advanced combat systems from cradle to grave in an independent, high-energy environment, and must have a can-do attitude, self-starting, ambitious, and hard-working. Minimum 20 years' of operational and/or operational/developmental test experience in USAF fighter aircraft as an operator. Strong background in USAF fighter systems, tactical employment, and development of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). Extensive experience in operational/developmental test procedures. Experience with aircraft data bus architecture; experience with data analysis tools. Extensive background in classified special access programs and procedures. Must have a strong desire to learn new systems and propose new ideas for aircraft subsystems design. Must have a strong ability to work in a team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills. Have good analytic skills and be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment. Must have strong verbal and written communications skills. Must have a can-do attitude and an open mind to develop new visions for fighter systems integration, avionics, and tactical applications. Must have a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record. Qualifications Desired: Graduate of USAF Weapons Instructor Course / Test Pilot School or equivalent.  Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in technical discipline, preferably in aeronautical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science. Master's degree in a technical discipline is desired. Clearance Requirements: Active TOP SECRET security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. Travel Requirements: Travel expected approximately monthly with typical trips occurring intraweek. Up to 20% travel, depending on program workload and work location. Occasional OCONUS travel may be required.
