The Missouri Network Operations Center (NOC), part of the Office of Administration's Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) is seeking a professional, self-motivated individual to join a team to support the duties of the NOC Operations.

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) Network Operations Center (NOC).

Provide timely response to all service requests, incidents, problems, outages, maintenance, and performance alerts. Support and triage active incidents and problems (including supporting senior staff during Level 1 conference calls) by using advanced monitoring tools, demonstrating skill searching and using logging systems, reviewing configuration information in databases and technical diagrams, and employing problem-solving skills and knowledge of computer systems and networking. Categorize issues for escalation to appropriate technical teams and notify customers and third-party service providers of issues, outages, and remediation status. Communicate with customers by phone and e-mail while tracking monitoring systems to ensure continuous operation of state information technology systems and services. Create and distribute informational notices, statistical reports, and other significant information to customers and ITSD staff in a timely and professional manner. Participate in the development and maintenance of internal operating procedures, processes, and training of other staff. Participate in the maintenance of the text messaging service used by the NOC for critical communication, including assignment of user privileges and sending important messages. Other duties as assigned. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work well in a team environment. Work with independence and judgment in the performance of duties and seek further advice from the Supervisor as needed. Develop and apply new skills through self-study and assigned training. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing, by phone, and in person. Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail. Troubleshooting abilities for both hardware and software. Test new applications and application updates for issues and provide feedback to application developers. Perform updates/changes to the NOC webpage and SharePoint website. Knowledge of computer networking and communication technologies such as but not limited to: network routers, modems, and switches. Knowledge of information security. Knowledge of computer operating systems. Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability to prepare and interpret networking documentation. Ability to interpret and apply standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and technical manuals. Ability to follow a methodical approach to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and/or software problems. Provide training to new NOC staff regarding NOC procedures upon hire. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency management, staff, vendors, and the general public. Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate's name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position. Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant. In addition to those identified in the previous level: Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, meet critical deadlines, and schedule work. Ability to develop technical skills, mentor, and coach, staff. Ability to communicate with customers, staff, vendors, and management.
