Job summary
Mechanical Engineers at Kimberly-Clark initiate, design, develop, optimize and problem solve manufacturing and supporting processes in a manner that meets safety and performance expectations.Incumbent will report to the Towel Converting Asset Team Leader and receives direction in the form of specific objectives.Recognized for understanding application of technology and demonstrates ability to interface with team members.

Responsibilities
• Identify and resolve process and equipment problems.• Initiate creative and practical designs which meet expectations and are cost efficient.• Implement engineering and scientific analysis principles.• Apply engineering standards and procedures.• Document work in an organized fashion to ensure information is retrievable.• Support Operations, Maintenance, and/or Project Engineering team.• Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope up to $1 million from conception through commercialization.• Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of high-speed converting equipment to meet unit objectives.• Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management while providing advice and counsel to others.• Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies, and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.• Seek, recognize, define, and solve problems to achieve unit objectives. Identify complex technical issues to determine root cause.• Develop others within the areas of expertise.
Requirements
• Candidates must possess a bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Pulp & Paper from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 8 years of expertise in a variety of technical or operational assignments.• Strong experience using manufacturing analytical tools such as statistical process control, design of experiments, process capability studies, Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.• Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a team to complete projects within required timeframes.• Understanding of Lean concepts with demonstrated ability to teach/develop others.• Evidence of continuing self-development.• Experience working with external technical service providers.
