PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and management of the Supply Chain function, including Forecasting, Scheduling, Production Planning, Procurement, Warehouse and Distribution.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain service levels in line with company objectives.
Manage sourcing and purchasing strategies aimed at reducing cost, minimizing risk, and optimizing business processes.
Develop RFQ's, solicit quotes and analyze costs/terms.
Negotiate with vendors for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and services used by the company.
Work with company leadership to negotiate and finalize contracts with critical suppliers.
Maintain robust procurement system and establish (or ensure compliance with already-established) policies and procedures that protect the company and provide strong internal controls.
Minimize interruptions to production schedules through effective parts and materials procurement
Establish and monitor supplier schedules.
Build strong supplier relationships and in conjunction with the Vendor Manager, serve as a point of contact for all suppliers, staying up to date on open orders, statuses, purchase volumes, changes in design/technology, contact information etc.
Serve as main point of contact for internal order expediting or de-expediting.
Serve as liaison between manufacturing/engineering and suppliers.
Evaluate current and prospective suppliers through audits and other performance metrics (on time delivery, quality, service, price).
Ensure all supplier adherence to code of ethics/conduct.
Direct all aspects of shipping, receiving, warehousing, and distribution.
Ensure shipping methods are maintained which minimize shipping errors and damage, adjusting carriers appropriately.
Ensure Supply Chain policies and procedures are followed and maintained in accordance with ISO certification and all state and federal regulations.
Ensure Production planning activities are effective and optimize the product mix, headcount, capital resources, and materials.
Work with the Commercial Sales organization to develop forecasts for new and existing products.
Plan the operating budget for all areas of accountability.
Develop and implement cost-savings and productivity initiatives.
Maintain records of all purchasing activities including purchase orders, material specifications, and incoming receipt.
Lead the analysis of key trends/issues in supply and cost of ownership and prepare market analysis reports
Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, components, or substitute materials.
Support major system, product, and IT implementations.

Requirements

KEY COMPETENCIES
Must be able to strategically plan for the company's future while simultaneously executing tactical requirements of daily operations.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Working knowledge of GMP/FDA/ISO environments and requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and external contacts.
The natural tendency to be proactive with a sense of urgency and prompt execution.
Time management and organizational skills, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical/engineering knowledge or aptitude strong enough to be able to discuss design features/changes with external contacts rather than relying on HemoSonics engineers.
Familiarity with factory automation and factory capital.
Strong negotiation skills.
Detail oriented.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate cross functionally.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.)
High level personal and professional integrity.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS in Business or Engineering or related discipline (preferred) and minimum of 10 years' experience, with at least 5 years in medical device/FDA/highly regulated environment preferred.
Experience setting strategic direction for Procurement or other Supply Chain dept/function.
Experience with ERP systems, selection, and implementation experience a plus.
APICS/ISM certification preferred.
Experience working in a start-up/small company environment a plus.

This position is primarily based out of the company Headquarters in Durham, NC
This position may involve travel to vendor sites as needed, up to 20%.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
Complete all company required training that is specified for the role, as defined by our compliance and training processes and protocols, which may be job specific or corporate/compliance related.
Listen and communicate using both verbal and written feedback. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Maintain a high level of consistent cognitive function.
Perform consistent keyboarding/computer use in a typical office environment for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
Frequently move about the office.
Stoop, kneel or crouch when maneuvering the office environment.
Perform work in a manufacturing and/or research laboratory environment for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
Maintain a Valid US Driver's License with sufficient documentation required for travel within the US.
Maintain a valid US Passport and have no international travel restrictions.
Drive a vehicle and/or use other travel means as needed to navigate to visit potential customer and client locations.
Lift up 50lbs at times.
Be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or meet the requirements for a medical or religious exemption.
