WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
As a Compensation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and managing the compensation strategy for our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that our compensation programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our business objectives. You will collaborate closely with People, Finance, Operations, Payroll and other stakeholders to design and administer various compensation plans, policies, and procedures. Your expertise will help us attract, retain, and motivate top talent while ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness. Key Responsibilities: Compensation Strategy Development: Work with Chief People Officer and VP, People on developing and implementing a comprehensive compensation strategy that supports the organization's goals and objectives. Market Analysis : Conduct regular benchmarking and analysis of compensation practices to ensure competitiveness in the market. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to compensation. Job Evaluation and Pricing: Lead the job evaluation process to determine appropriate salary grades and ranges for different positions within the organization. Ensure internal equity by evaluating job roles, responsibilities, and market data. Compensation Planning and Budgeting: Collaborate with Finance, Ops and People team members to develop and manage the compensation budget. Provide guidance on salary adjustments, bonus programs, and other compensation-related expenses. Compensation Review and Analysis : Review and analyze compensation data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Make recommendations for adjustments or enhancements to compensation programs as needed. Performance Management Integration : Partner with the People team to integrate compensation programs with performance management processes. Ensure that pay decisions are tied to individual and organizational performance. Compliance and Governance : Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies governing compensation practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements and industry standards. Communication and Education : Communicate compensation programs, policies, and guidelines to employees and managers. Provide training and support to People and management teams on compensation-related matters. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred. Proven experience with at least 5 years in compensation management, with a focus on designing and administering compensation programs in a complex organization. Strong Excel skills with experience doing compensation modeling. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven recommendations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels. Thorough understanding of compensation principles, practices, and regulations. Proficiency in compensation benchmarking tools required and Workday experience preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. TALENT + CULTURE AT VEG
