ABC is currently seeking a Liability Claim Specialist to join its Risk Management team.
If you are detail-oriented, enjoy a good challenge and have a passion for working with others, this may be a great fit for you! This is an in-office position located at our Beloit, WI National Support Center. There is potential to work remotely 2 days per week.
Specific duties may include:
Reviewing, investigating and processing liability claims
Evaluating claim related content
Examining reports and authorizing settlements for claims investigated by our third-party administrator
Determining settlements according to organization practices and procedures
Detailed claim record keeping
Litigation management, which may include but is not limited to:
Directing defense counsel towards settlement, analyzing case evaluations, mediating cases with defense counsel, answering interrogatories, providing settlement authority to defense counsel, understanding policy limits, SIR and excess carrier involvement in litigated claims
Accurate DOT reporting and record keeping, which may include but is not limited to:
Managing the administering of drug and alcohol testing for drivers, accurately reporting whether a claim is DOT recordable, accurately recording data for DOT recordable claims, data integrity which assists in DOT audits
Other duties as assigned by leadership
Specific qualifications include:
Experience in a corporate office setting
Microsoft Office proficiency
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
Strong follow-through, attention to detail and accuracy in work
Excellent incident investigation skills
At least 2-5 years of liability claim experience
At least 2 years of advanced litigated liability claim management experience
Proficient in DOT requirements at time of accident and post-accident testing requirements
Proven accuracy with DOT data integrity (internal candidates)
Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
AIC, ARM or CPCU designations, or equivalent certifications
Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business or equivalent field
Experience in distribution or transportation liability claims
Experience with Dept. of Transportation compliance
Experience in general liability claims with emphasis on structural claims
Proficiency with insurance policy interpretation including excess policies
While not required, the ability to speak Spanish may hold priority consideration.
