Purpose
The IT Ops and Infrastructure Associate is responsible for overseeing the installation and testing IT and network infrastructure, network administration, server administration, employee hardware / software set-up, on-site and remote IT support, and computer maintenance. The position requires approximately 50% travel between the Office and Data Center sites, also must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
Responsibilities & Accountabiliti
es
IT Equipment Room Management:
Administers, monitors and maintains IT equipment rooms
Develops quality assurance procedures to ensure operational excellence
IT Infrastructure Management:
Reviews adequacy of IT infrastructure regularly and proposes changes or upgrades.
Asset management, inventory (including ordering and tracking of IT hardware and software) and lifecycle management.
Ensures team members are set-up with IT hardware and software according to organizational requirements.
Create and maintain application deployment packages and device images.
Support Service Desk Team:
Develop and maintain a helpdesk request queue and tracking system.
Provides software and hardware continued support to Hut 8 team members.
Resolves IT questions or problems or escalates them in a timely manner.
Vendor Management:
Identifies local vendors & develops technical specs and QC program for service contracts.
Performs Quality Assurance for IT Infrastructure Installations during construction.
Manages access and SLA performance for preventative maintenance and repairs.
IT Project Management:
Prioritizes and balances day-to-day support activities with IT project implementations
Develops and delivers accurate and timely reporting on deliverables.
Acts in a manner consistent with Hut 8's values.
Maintains working area in a safe, organized manner.
Educati
on & Experience
A diploma, certificate, or degree in a related technical field required
Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
Experience or solid understanding IT Infrastructure
Experience with Datacenter operations and Networking
Excellent Microsoft 365, Windows Operating Systems knowledge
Microsoft 365 Certified: MS-100, MS-101, MD-100, MD-101 preferred
MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals preferred.
Networking experience in campus, datacenter, & office environments
CCNA, CCNP certification preferred
Planning, budgeting and results reporting experience
Any safety certification such as OSHA, First Aid, & CPR is a plus
Understands splicing and testing of fiber optic cables.
