Senior Injection Mold Designer

Job: Senior Injection Mold Designer Location: Lee's Summit, MO Summary: We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual seeking a rewarding career opportunity with a growing leader in the industry. Looking for an experienced injection mold designer to join our talented team. Mold Designer creates robust injection mold designs that consider customer standards along with manufacturing best practices.
Nature of assignments, duties, and responsibilities: Review customer data for tooling feasibility and propose design solutions. Model mold design and create fully tolerance 2D manufacturing prints. Confer with shop personnel on manufacturing plans Hold internal and external mold design reviews Mentor Junior level design engineers Work with suppliers to procure hardware and custom components. Check peer mold designs Support mold trials and mechanical debugging Support estimating as needed Other duties as assigned by manager Requirements : 8+ years of experience in injection mold design Class 101+ & 101 high cavitation design experience is a plus Strong understanding of design for manufacturability Application experience specifying steels and coatings Ability to understand and incorporate customer standards / specifications into a mold design. Ability to work in a steady professional manner with little or no supervision required. Ability to work in a team environment and participate in engineering reviews. Detail orientated. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Good MS Office skills. Creo experience is a plus Mold Flow experience is a plus Prior estimating experience is a plus High cavitation mold design is a plus
