DESCRIPTION Last Mile Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented industrial engineer / industrial designer to lead initiatives of developing next generation, world-class Last Mile transportation building designs. We're looking to add a handful of high-impact engineers to our team. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our delivery stations. Your projects will be a variety of delivery station concepts and template-based design solutions that will enhance the effectiveness of Amazon's last mile network. You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment.
Ability to travel 25% to interact with internal and external business, operational and technical leaders.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate design efforts to develop optimal delivery station design solutions for the last mile network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
• Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors and stakeholders to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects, retrofits and building designs
• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.
• Ability to travel 25% to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.

Austin, TX, USA | Bellevue, WA, USA | Nashville, TN, USA BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations
• 5+ years Experience in Industrial Engineering or Facility design with automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
• 5+ years Experience with process design based on Lean Principles.
• 5+ years Experience in Capital project management
• 5+ years Experience with concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making.
• 5+ years Experience with ownership/management of engineering design projects
• 5+ years Experience using business/technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
