Privately held full-service civil engineering and land survey company that strives to deliver successful, bold, and innovative solutions to public and private clients and communities has an immediate opening for a Senior Hydrologist (Flood Control Manager) specializing in Land Development to join our Las Vegas, NV office.
The Sr. Hydrologist (Flood Control Manager) within this class is considered an expert level involved in hydrological issues with considerable scope and complexity and requiring creative and innovative application of advanced scientific, hydrological, and mathematical methods in resolution of complex issues. This position is the expert person in the area of hydrology as it relates to Land Development.
Senior Hydrologist / Civil Engineer (Flood Control Manager) Role and Responsibilities Include:
Total responsibility for the preparation and coordination of all hydrology studies, calculation and analysis, from conception through approval of residential, commercial and industrial projects. Additionally they provide overall supervision, technical expertise and training to all hydrology staff.
Senior Hydrologist / Civil Engineer (Flood Control Manager) Education / Experience Needed:
BS in Civil Engineering, P.E. license along with 10 years of experience in the areas of hydraulic and hydraulic analyses preparing technical drainage studies
At least 6 years of increasing responsible supervisory engineering experience in the areas of hydrology for a civil engineering firm.
Experience in mathematical computations and data analysis.
Experience with interpretation and application of state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in a hydrological environment.
Experience in the use of the current version of AutoCAD.
Knowledge of the following Hydrology software: Knowledge of the following Hydrology software: HEC-1, HEC-Ras, Flowmaster, Flo-2D (or similar), HY-8 & WSPG.
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional engineering office environment and outdoor for site visits.
Work Hours:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Occasionally the employee may need to work overtime as deemed necessary.
