A fast growing association who is leading the way forward on energy solutions seeks a Senior Finance Manager to join its Finance Department. The Senior Finance Manager reports to the VP of Finance and Accounting and will interact with staff, association members, customers, an outsourcing firm, and other outside contacts. This individual will need to operate independently with minimal daily supervision to accomplish objectives. Must be knowledgeable of a variety of ground concepts, practices, and procedures.
Perform the month-end, quarter- end and year-end closing activities and responsible for accruing monthly expenses.
Manage the prepaid schedule and ensure prepaid expenses are posted monthly by reconciling against the trial balance.
Reconcile the various balance sheet accounts, including accounts payable, accrued expenses, prepaid, consulting expenses, and pending refunds.
Work with the Finance team to ensure and reconcile the select expense accounts used against the budget.
Responsible for analyzing the Accounts Payable aging reports and resolving any open items or discrepancies.
Coordinate with outsourcing company to process and record vendor payments correctly and in a timely manner and set up new vendors according to policy.
Review all payments that the outsourcing company processes to ensure accuracy by verifying coding and resolving issues if any discrepancy occurs.
Manage Fixed Assets and tenant improvements analysis.
Work with external advisors to ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax obligations.
Verify corporate credit card payments are not duplicated with AP payments.
Support the process and systems for employee expense reimbursement, including validating expense reports to ensure policy compliance.
Act as a champion for ensuring internal controls are followed and seeks for ways to continue to improve processes and systems.

Provides strong customer service by adequately addressing internal and external inquiries in a timely, professional, and knowledgeable manner.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field; CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor staff.
• Ability to meet deadlines while demonstrating professionalism under pressure.
• Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring the ability to effectively prioritize and juggle concurrent projects.
