The UTSA Office of Alumni Relations seeks a creative, innovative, highly organized, and collaborative individual to serve as the Senior Events Manager, responsible for leading all signature events and further identifying unique alumni engagement programming opportunities. Core Responsibilities Oversees all signature events on behalf of the Alumni Relations Office and the UTSA Alumni Association, including but not limited to, Home and Away Football Tailgates, the Annual Diploma Dash 5K, Golf Scramble Fundraiser, and the annual Alumni Awards Gala. Assists colleagues and Alumni Relations staff members to initiate, plan develop, and execute other engagement and fundraising events, including coordination of logistical and operational needs, budget management, programming, marketing, and communications coordination. Recruits, coordinates, and manages external alumni volunteers to assist with organizational events, programs, and activities. Responsible for creating a new and overarching volunteer program in line with the department's new strategic plan. Responsible for identifying future event engagement opportunities that will further expand the department's mission of uniquely engaging UTSA graduates and alumni. Gathers, records, and monitors data related to events and volunteer participation for reporting on alumni engagement metrics, ensuring the achievement of objectives. Coordinates financial transactions related to event programming, including budget tracking and invoicing, following department and university requirements and policies. Oversees and manages programming and event equipment, inventory, and storage. Acts as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and facilitate event and programming needs. Supervises the Events & Advancement Coordinator position; provides leadership, training, and ongoing coaching/feedback. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university. Four (4) years of experience in events management. General knowledge of sound and lighting systems and other applicable equipment. Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving ability. Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Understanding of individual alumni needs and perceptions. Understanding of identification, solicitation, and stewardship process. Highly effective organizational skills. Detail-oriented, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage more than one project simultaneously to meet deadlines. Use of computer, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications One (1) year of leadership or supervisory experience. Experience in events management. Similar experience in higher education or non-profit atmosphere. Experience with Raiser's Edge. Additional Information UTSA is a tobacco-free campus. Working Environment: Office environment. Requires use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, and calculator. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events. Evening and weekend work will be required. Must be able to travel work and work hours with a flexible schedule. Physical Demands: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
