What you will do: Thoroughly review and understand the project specifications and drawings. Exhibit a good understanding of how the owner pays for the Schedule of Values. Produce accurate take-offs and pricing of Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil components. Complete cost estimates on project from $10M to $100M price range. Solicit subcontractors and vendors for quotations. Prepare/manage Minority Participation matrix. Analyze self-perform activities versus subcontracted. Prepare/assist in creating construction schedules. Prepare/analyze equipment utilization schedule. Update databases with labor rates, vendor plug values and equipment rates. Complete cost estimates for assigned scopes of work on larger projects. Provide mentoring for younger estimators. Manage small group of assisting estimators. Exhibit good communication skills with internal staff, subcontractors, vendors, client representation, etc. maintaining ethical standards. Participate in Joint Venture estimates. Identify risks and opportunities for projects. Coordinate quantity and cost comparison with Joint Venture Partners. To be successful in this role: Required: 4-year Engineering Degree or equivalent Estimating experience Technical training and /or related experience Advanced math and computer skills Preferred: 10 years working in the field of Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil projects Design Build/ P3 Experience HCSS Heavy Bid, Microsoft products, Bluebeam, Smart Bid, Teams, Share Point, CADD, Viewpoint Vista & P6 Experience estimating all types of projects/contracts Experience supervising others What we offer: Competitive compensation, medical/dental/vision coverage, paid PTO, 401k with a company match, training, career planning, and more.
