Job Classification: Exempt, Full-time
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, occasional early mornings, evenings or weekends.
Reporting Relationship:  Vice President of Development & Marketing Primary Accountabilities:
The primary function of the Senior Engagement Officer (SrEO) is to assist in planning, implementing and evaluating a variety of strategies within Capper Foundation's (CF) Development Department. The SrEO has an impact on all areas of the organization by securing donations and ensuring a high quality of service is maintained at all times in support of the goals and objectives of CF. Major Duties: Work as part of the Development team in developing strategic and operational plans to ensure progress in achieving goals and objectives. Actively participate with and provide information and input to the Vice President of Development and Marketing. Identify prospective donors with the capacity and interest to support the CF purpose. Report the use of funds contributed, results achieved and impact on persons served to donors. Recommend and execute appropriate means to acknowledge, recognize and thank donors. Provide information to ensure accurate reporting of donor gifts and cultivation activities. Complete reports of donor contacts for the Vice President of Development and Marketing and enter those reports into donor records database, Raisers Edge. Identify and strategically solicit current and potential donors as Planned Gift prospects for the Capper Heritage Society. Develop written plans and implement stewardship strategies to build donor relationships, retain their commitment of support and ask for a legacy gift in their will and estate plans. Plan and implement individual strategies to cultivate prospective donors to secure timely commitments at desired gift levels and to retain future donor support. Participate in organizational strategies to secure gift acquisitions for Giving Tuesday and Year End giving. Participate as requested to assist with Capital Campaign efforts. Maintain and update constituent records in the CF donor database, including entering donor research and Development staff cultivation notes for use in all development functions. Recommend a variety of formulas to produce a targeted list of constituents for invitation lists and direct marketing appeals. Produce accurate analytical reports and donor queries to assess the effectiveness of development activities and to review trends and year-end comparisons. Recommend software and hardware updates and enhancement to the Vice President of Development and Marketing. Participate in special events as needed and build relationships with event guests. Support the CF and its activities. Performs all other duties as assigned.  Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. Three (3) years fundraising experience required (planned giving experience preferred). Demonstrates understanding of the role of development in a not-for-profit human service organization. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Utilizes evolving technology as assigned. Read, write and speak fluent English. Pass background checks and drug test per CF procedures. Valid Kansas Driver's License. Willing to perform some travel within the State of Kansas. Physical Demands: Regularly required to speak and hear. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach and use hands. Ability to read computer screens for an extended period of time. Ability to lift up to thirty (30) pounds. Work Environment: This position may occasionally have direct contact with individuals who have physical and/or developmental disabilities and who may exhibit unpredictable behavior and uncontrollable outbursts. This position requires confidentiality of CF clients in accordance with HIPPA Security and organizational records and donor information.
