Job summary
Senior Employee Relations CoordinatorPerform professional support work related to Employee/Labor RelationsAdvise and make recommendations to City departments regarding policies and regulations
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Review and analyze discipline, conflict resolution, and grievance/arbitration matters• Advise and make recommendations to City departments on policy administration• Prepare and present arguments for grievances• Provide technical assistance in implementing labor and employee relations programs• Supervise and coordinate the work of lower level staff
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, or relevant field• 6 years of HR experience in grievance hearings, arbitration, or labor relations• 3 years of supervisory experience• Knowledge of arbitration, union contract negotiations, and labor relations practices• Understanding of relevant laws and regulations• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Proficient in computer applications and office equipment• Must have a valid New Mexico Driver's License• Possession of a City Operator's Permit within 6 months of hire
