Required Skillsets:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
5+ years' experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects is highly preferred working for a company that was a EOR
Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong preferred
Pluses
Master of Science or MBA Degree
PMP and/or P.E
Job Description:
Insight Global is looking for a Substation Project Engineer to join their team This Engineer with be responsible for all assigned substation projects from conception (Early Stage) through construction and commissioning (Execution).In the conceptual phase, you will work with the Early-Stage Project Manager to support the engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group. Projects can begin as FERC 1000 competitive transmission project proposals, or as greenfield projects for NEER affiliates. Plans, coordinates and completes large-scale or several medium or small, complex or long-term project(s) within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Identifies issues and challenges, measures and validates results, and implements solutions. Provides information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues. Creates and communicates presentation materials for report out and updates with various levels of internal and external stakeholders. Training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers of record (EOR) for all assigned substation projects to ensure compliance with required generation interconnection agreements, scope of work documents, project specifications, site specific design requirements, IEEE, NESC, ASCE and all other applicable industry codes and standards. Coordinate with other project stakeholders to develop and secure a substation site, support any engineering updates, data and permits necessary to design and build the substation.
